Project: Kitchen refit and remodel. Year: 2023

After hearing about Tijs from a local friend, Lorraine and Brian got in touch as they wanted to give their dated kitchen a new lease of life.

The process was relatively straightforward and involved plenty of discussion to make sure the couple were confident about the project before it started, as Lorraine explains,

“Many of the ideas came from our consultation meetings with Tijs when he came to meet with us. He was very generous with his time before we agreed to the work going ahead. Tijs provided all the materials although we looked at the catalogues and websites to choose the cabinets, flooring etc.”

Kitchen Installation in One Day

We do try to give realistic timelines but we can’t control the weather or some supplier issues. After removing the old kitchen and prepping the space for the new one, installing the kitchen units took just one day but then there was a delay.

“Tijs had estimated 4 weeks. We went away for the first 3 weeks when most of the preparation was done. It was delayed a few weeks waiting for the quartz worktop people who were very busy.”

Clever Integrations

The great thing about refitting a kitchen is that, even if you’re not having large building work done you can still play around with the layout to make it work better for you. Lorraine explains,

“One unique element, at Tijs's suggestion, is that our integrated washing machine open at the back of the kitchen area and that looks good.”

The cabinets are Howdens and the quartz worktop is via Lucio at The Italian Job, in Moyser Road..

Great Relationships Get Great Results

Tijs and the team loved working with Lorraine and Brian, their openness to ideas and the trust they placed in us made for a genuinely enjoyable project.

“Tijs always replied to our phone calls and Whatsapp messages. He introduced the person who was head of the team (Chris, the electrician) before we went away and everyone we met was friendly, helpful, mostly on time and reliable.”

Modern Meets Classic

Now Lorraine and Brian have an updated, modern kitchen in a timeless style that complements their beautiful solid wood dining furniture.

We asked Lorraine how she and her husband feel about the process and their rejuvenated space. It’s fair to say they are pleased,

“FANTASTIC AND WE LOVE OUR NEW KITCHEN!

We have already recommended Tijs to a friend locally and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.”
